Corrections Deputy of the Year 2023

Support Staff of the Year 2023

Dan Burns

Dan has been serving in the Island County Jail since September of 2015. Before that he served as a Lieutenant for the Island County Sheriff’s Office Reserves. Dan has been a vital part of supporting the work the jail does. He is a Field Training Officer, the Jails only Peer-Support person, the Jails inventory manager and all-around great guy. Dan is one of those people everyone loves to work with, and it’s noticed when he isn’t on shift. Congrats to Dan for being the ICCA’s first recognized Deputy of the Year.

Chelcee Lindell

Chelcee is the Jails RSAT (Residential Substance Abuse Treatment) Director. She has been with the Jail since 2019 and started as the Jails Transitions Coordinator. She “transitioned” herself in 2023 as the head of the RSAT program. Chelcee essentially stood the RSAT program up herself from nothing. Up until that point the Island County Jail did not have any sort of substance abuse programs available. Since that time there have been at least two success stories of inmates returning to the community and succeeding in making a better life for themselves. Congrats to Chelcee for being the ICCA’s first recognized Support Staff of the Year.

2023 Cornhole Champions

During the ICCA summer party, a cornhole tournament is put on to build morale in the jail.
